Roy Maxwell Alvis was born on February 2, 1938. He is a former Major League Baseball third baseman. He played from 1962- ’70 for the Cleveland Indians and Milwaukee Brewers. He was a two-time All-Star (1965, ’67).

Charles Oliver “Charlie” Hough was born on January 5, 1948. He is a former Major League Baseball pitcher. He pitched from 1970- ’94 for the Dodgers, Rangers, White Sox, and Marlins.
He was a 1986 All-Star and is a member of the Texas Rangers Hall of Fame.

Jack Baldschun

On July 18, 2015, I mailed two original drawings to Jack Baldschun.  I asked him to keep one of the drawings and to please sign and return the other.

Jack Edward Baldachin was born on October 16, 1939. He is a former Major League Baseball pitcher. He pitched from 1961- ’70 for the Phillies, Reds, and Padres.
He compiled a career win-loss record of 48-41, 60 saves, 555 strikeouts, and an ERA of 3.69.

Ryne Sandberg

On March 12, 2012, I mailed an original drawing to Ryne Sandberg.  I asked that he please sign the drawing and return it to me in the stamped envelope I provided.

This is a new personal record for longest time until I received my drawing. The drawing was signed and returned to me on Saturday, February 6, 2016; 1,446 days later- almost four years!

Ryne Dee Sandberg was born on September 18, 1959. Ryno is a former Major League Baseball second baseman and manager. He played in 1981 for the Philadelphia Phillies and from 1982- ’94, and ’96- ’97 for the the Chicago Cubs.
He is a ten-time All-Star (1984- ’93), nine-time Gold Glove Award Winner (1983- ’91), seven-time Silver Slugger Award Winner (1984, ’85, ’88- ’92), 1990 Home Run Derby Champion, 1990 NL Home Run leader, and 2005 Baseball Hall of Fame inductee. The Chicago Cubs have retired his #23.

Taylor Phillips

On January 20, 2016, I mailed an original drawing and a custom baseball card to Taylor Phillips.  I asked him to keep the drawing and to please sign and return the card.

The card was signed and returned to me on Thursday, February 4, 2016; 15 days later. He also returned the drawing. He wrote that his wife said his eyes were blue. I corrected the drawing and mailed it back to him.

William Taylor Phillips was born on 18, 1933. He is a former Major League Baseball pitcher. He pitched from 1956- ’63 for the Milwaukee Braves, Chicago Cubs, Philadelphia Phillies, and Chicago White Sox.
He appeared in 147 games, 102 in relief.

Jerome Martin Koosman was born on December 23, 1942. He is a former Major League Baseball pitcher. He pitched from 1967- ’85 for the Mets, Twins, White Sox, and Phillies.
He was a two-time All-Star (1968, ’69), a 1969 World Series Champion, and is a member of the New York Mets Hall of Fame.

Ray Clark Washburn was born on May 31, 1938. He is a former Major League Baseball pitcher. He pitched from 1961 – ’70 for the St Louis Cardinals and Cincinnati Reds.
He was a two-time World Series Champion (1964, ’67) and pitched a No-Hitter on September 18, 1968.

On January 21, 2016, I mailed an original drawing and a custom baseball card to Sam Mele.  I asked him to keep the drawing and to please sign and return the card.
On Monday, February 1, 2016, my autograph arrived in the mail. Neither the drawing nor card were returned to me. Instead, he signed the protective paper that I had also included in the envelope.

Sabath Anthony “Sam” Mele was born on January 21, 1922. He is a former Major League Baseball right fielder, manager, coach, and scout.
He played from 1947- ’56 for the Red Sox, Senators, White Sox, Orioles, Redlegs, and Indians.
He managed the Minnesota Twins from 1961- ’67, leading them to their first AL championship in 1965.

The card was signed and returned to me on Monday, February 1,2016; 12 days later.

Frederick John Caligini was born on October 22, 1918. He is a former Major League Baseball pitcher. He pitched from 1941-’42 for the Philadelphia Athletics.
Caligiuri started the final game of the 1941 season, against the Boston Red Sox. Ted Williams went 2-for-3 against Caligiuri, and finished the season batting .406, the most recent .400 hitter in the Majors.
